Pre-Purchase Inspection

Pre-Purchase Inspection

So you are thinking about buying another car? Well if you are buying a used car then you will probably want to consider calling us for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. While it may sound convenient and there are a number of businesses that have popped up to offer these inspections as a mobile service, it is not advisable. If there is no lift then how can the mechanic honestly complete a thorough inspection?

Therefore, we advise our clients to have the current car’s owner drive it over to our shop so that we can perform all the mechanical, safety, and appearance checks you may not be able to complete yourself.

Here are some of the items we closely inspect:

  • Tires
  • Frame and body condition
  • Suspension
  • Radiator
  • Hoses and belts
  • Fluid levels
  • Battery
  • Brakes
  • Glass
  • Lights

This inspection report will also give you several advantages:

A great report will give you the peace of mind knowing that you should be comfortable to go ahead with the purchase of the car.

Should the report come back with some flaws such worn brakes, tires, leaks or other parts needing to be repaired then you are in a better position to bargain for a better price or have the owner repair these items before you buy the car.

Of course if there are a lot of issues then you can walk away and avoid the headaches of a car with a lot of problems. Plus it also gives you a lot of bargaining power to get a better price if it is a car you really want to own.

As mentioned earlier just give us a call and schedule an appointment and have the current owner bring the car to our shop and we can perform the inspection and give you both an honest assessment so that you both can negotiate if you choose to do so.
